Pursuant to Memorandum No. 08, s. 2021 of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council entitled “Conduct of the CY 2021 Quarterly National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill”, all SDO offices and public schools are enjoined to participate in the conduct of the following 2021 NSED quarterly schedule. (Deped Imus City – DM No. 85 s. 2021)
In connection with that Alapan 1 Elementary School thru the guidance of Dr. Divina Navarez, Principal IV, and the School DRRM Coordinator Mr. Arly Flores, conducted the said drill last March 11, 2021 (2:00 PM). The fundamental objective of the Philippine Quarterly National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill is to promote earthquake awareness among Filipinos and to integrate ground-up initiatives in preparing for disasters. Government authorities became aware of the need to prepare Filipinos to better cope with earthquakes. Hence, the need arose to devise a drill that would simulate an earthquake of similar magnitude

Ang pagbibigay buhay sa kwentong ito ay bahagi ng mas pinalawak na pagtuturo ng Alapan 1 Elementary School. Ginagamit ang ganitong pamamaraan bilang kampanya na bahagi ng BaBiBu at Sulong EduKalidad ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon at Dibisyon ng Lungsod ng Imus.

Perhaps the most pressing challenges the school faces are that of ensuring that all learners become competent readers. Learners who experienced problems in reading quickly fall behind their more skilled classmates in their ability to decode and comprehend text. The initiative is in response to the rapidly changing learning environment of present and future learners and will introduce aggressive reforms to globalize the quality of basic education in the Philippines.
