Reports on students, teachers who tested positive for Covid-19 confirmed by DepEd

Department of Education (DepEd) confirmed last September 30, 2022 those reports of students, teachers, and non-teaching staff who had tested positive in COVID-19 since the start of in-person instruction this school year. But Attorney and DepEd Spokesperson Michael Poa, the agency did not yet have “accurate” figures of COVID-19 positives.

“Talaga pong meron na tayong natatanggap na reports of Covid cases or cases kung saan nagpa-positive ang learners, teachers and non-teaching staff (We have actually received reports of Covid cases or cases where learners, teachers and non-teaching staff have tested positive),” Education Spokesman Michael Poa said

“However, as to the exact figure, we cannot give you an accurate figure just, yet we need to verify the info with the tracking that is being done by LGUs and perhaps, the data also with Department of Health,” Poa added.

Currently, 47,000 public schools around the country are using blended learning, which combines traditional classroom instruction with other forms of distant learning.
