Adapting to new approaches in teaching and learning, the Department of Education (DepEd) has set a roadmap for the review and updating of its MATATAG Curriculum Guide for Grade 10. The DepEd MATATAG Curriculum for Grade 10 equips your child with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in senior high school and beyond. It offers a focused selection of learning areas designed to deepen understanding and prepare them for their chosen academic path:
- Filipino: Refine communication and critical thinking skills. Students master advanced Filipino grammar, expand vocabulary, and analyze literary works to develop a deeper appreciation for their national language.
- English: Sharpen communication skills for global application. Students hone their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in English, preparing them for higher education and future careers in an increasingly globalized world.
- Mathematics: Master advanced mathematical concepts. Students delve into algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability, building a strong foundation for success in senior high school and STEM-related fields.
- Science: Unravel the complexities of the natural world. Students explore advanced scientific concepts in biology, chemistry, physics, or Earth science (depending on their specialization), fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Araling Panlipunan (Social Studies): Gain a deeper understanding of society and the world. Students explore Philippine and global history, delve into contemporary social issues, and analyze political and economic systems, preparing them for responsible citizenship in a rapidly changing world.

In addition, DepEd will review the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) implemented this school year and assess whether they are sufficient for learners to acquire knowledge and skills.
