Performance Based Bonus 2021: DepEd’s Update as of May

Performance Based Bonus 2021 – Alapan 1 Elementary School

The government aimed to improve its services and processes that better served the people. It is part of the governments’ responsibilities to make the public services accessible to all with quality. The Performance-based Incentive System (PBIS) achieves this goal by recognizing and rewarding the outstanding contributions made by government agencies and individual employees. PBIS, established by Executive Order No. 80 FY 2012, aims to align workers’ efforts with organizational goals by promoting greater efficiency and transparency in a cohesive government.

Employees will be rewarded with PBB, which is an incentive used by PBIS, based on their funding to achieve the overall goals and responsibilities of their Department.

All qualified civil servants often received government benefits in the same way, regardless of the level and value of their work and the delivery of public services. The underprivileged and the underperformed are given the same incentives as their hard-working colleagues in some cases, indicating that the old reward system has been exploited.

PBIS aims to repair this broken system by ensuring that good public servants are properly respected and rewarded. Exemplary public servants will receive two bonuses under the PBIS:
1. Productive Enhancement Incentive (PEI), which is issued to all public servants annually; and
2. Performance-Based Bonus (PBB), which will be awarded to employees based on their actual performance and contributions to the objectives of their departments.

How much will be your PBB?

The amount will be determined by the output of each employee and the department or agency of which it is a part. This is to promote a culture of collaboration within each unit and within the department as a whole, especially if the department has a variety of outcomes and services to offer.

PBB Best Performance from the most efficient unit or “Best Office” P35,000; PBB For Better Work From “Better Office” is P13,500; and PBB Good Work from “Good Office” is P5,000. However, a small percentage of poor workers can be denied PBB.
