Education for All – This place was formerly a dense forest with different natural resources. Additionally, people from nearby towns and barangay get the raw materials they use in furniture-making in agriculture, in building their houses, and for medical purposes from here.

Alapan I Elementary School, located in Alapan I-B, Imus City, Cavite, holds a significant place in Philippine history. The school is situated on the historic site of the Battle of Alapan, which occurred on May 28, 1898. Meanwhile, the battle marked a pivotal moment in the nation’s struggle for independence, as it was the first time the Philippine flag, sewn in Hong Kong by Marcella Agoncillo, was unfurled in victory. Further, the name Alapan was derived from the shortened Tagalog word “Pinangangalapan” which means “a place where things are procured”. In 1822 people began to settle in the area.

Peer teaching (READING PAL)

Perhaps the most pressing challenges the school faces are that of ensuring that all learners become competent readers. Learners who experienced problems in reading quickly fall behind their more skilled classmates in their ability to decode and comprehend text.
Since reading is one of the priority improvement areas in the Scool Improvement Plan Alapan I Elementary School adapts the practice of peer teaching or having a reading pal.

Planning, preparation and implementation go hand in hand in Alapan I Elementary School’s Oplan Balik Eskwela (OBE) as they welcome the new school year’s learners in the new normal set-up.

“If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Careful planning played a vital in the initial stages of our OBE, especially since Alapan I is my new station. I have to study all the nooks and crooks of the school for us to have a better chance of a successful school year”, the new school head.
