All SIM card users must register their personal information with telecommunications companies, or telcos, by the SIM Card Registration Act, or Republic Act 11934. Here are the requirements and registration process for users of SIM cards from GLOBE, SMART, TNT, SUN, DITO, and Other Networks using the respective SIM Card Registration Portal. Starting December 27, 2022, the SIM Card Registration Law goes into force. Globe, Smart Communications, and DITO Telecommunity Corp. require all Filipino SIM card users, both current and new, to register their SIM cards.

Who is required in SIM Card Registration?

All prepaid and postpaid SIM card owners must register their mobile numbers, as required by the government. This includes children, whose parents or guardians must register under their names, as well as foreigners.

Where do I register my SIM Card?

Do I need to pay for registration?

No, registration is free for existing and new users.

How do I register my postpaid SIM Card?

Globe and Smart will pre-register their existing postpaid users using the information submitted by clients when they applied for a postpaid plan. However, the carriers will still contact their clients to request confirmation of the information they submitted with their applications. On DITO’s website, there is no information on postpaid registrations, although the business will undoubtedly adhere to the same rules as Globe and Smart.

What are the requirements for registration?

You have to provide the following details in your SIM Registration:

I want to register my SIM Card, but I don’t have a Valid ID. Is there any alternative?

All registrants must present at least one ID issued by a government agency. There are many ways to get a Valid ID to use in the registration, and also you have ample time of 6 months since the registration started for this.

What are the consequences of misrepresentation or using fake information or an ID?

For validation, a liveliness test or selfie may be necessary. False information or fake identification might result in a six-month to two-year prison sentence and a fine of up to P300,000.

How many SIM Cards can I register?

You can register as many as you need. There is no limitation on the number of SIM Cards you can register as long as all the information you provide is correct.

What will happen if I don’t register my SIM by April 26?

The SIM will be permanently turned off. Said, you won’t be able to make or receive calls, send texts, or utilize data on it any longer.

Is a tourist required to register SIM Cards?

The sole prerequisites for SIM registration for foreigners on tourist visas are a passport, proof of address in the Philippines, and a return ticket. The system will automatically deactivate foreign-registered SIM cards after 30 days.

About Minor Users of Globe SIM Card

If you are a minor SIM card user, you can register in the name of your parent or guardian, provided that this adult gives their consent and registers the card.

What if I need to transfer ownership of my SIM card?
