On this page, you’ll find our updated Matatag Grade 4 Daily Lesson Log (DLL) for Quarter 1 of School Year 2025-2026.

These free and editable DLLs will help you deliver quality, competency-based, and responsive classroom instruction. Whether you’re handling English, Math, Filipino, GMRC, or other regular subjects, you can use these Daily Lesson Logs. Most importantly, you can revise our DLLs to fit your personal style and professional preferences. Therefore, it’s important to understand the basic information about the Daily Lesson Log.

Matatag Curriculum Framework

The Daily Lesson Log is a standardized template used by teachers in the Philippines to plan and organize their daily classroom instruction. In this DLL for Quarter 1 of Grade 4, teachers can plan their classroom activities for each part of the lesson based on the Matatag Curriculum. Usually, the standardized DLL template consists of establishing the purpose of the lesson, developing understanding, generating responses, and other parts that were also present in previous formats. Therefore, the Daily Lesson Log helps teachers plan lessons effectively, ensuring activities are competency-based. Also, it supports diverse learning to accommodate different types of learners. It also promotes consistency in teaching practices, allows for better time management, and serves as a tool for monitoring and evaluation.

What is the Matatag Curriculum for Grade 4?

The Matatag Curriculum for Grade 4 is primarily designed as a transition stage from foundational learning skills to more comprehensive classroom instruction. Therefore, this revised curriculum aims to enhance the quality and relevance of learning from Kindergarten to Grade 10. It seeks to address the challenges of the previous K-12 program by decongesting content and focusing on essential competencies. Additionally, it prioritizes the early development of foundational learning skills, such as reading and numeracy.

The Matatag Curriculum framework places Grade 4 at one of the most important stages of learning development. It considers the competencies of Grade 4 to be interrelated with those of previous grade levels. At this stage, learners focus on critical thinking and social education. You must integrate the principles and elements of the Matatag Curriculum that compose the Grade 4 expected learning targets well into your DLL for Quarter 1. You should choose the best classroom activities and write their objectives and processes in your Daily Lesson Logs.
