According to DepEd Memorandum 024 s. 2025, the National Achievement Test Grade 6 and 12 also known by its abbreviation “NATG6” and “NATG12” respectively will be conducted nationwide on its testing window of March 31 and April 2-4, 2025. This page focuses on the purpose of the NAT and provides guidelines for teachers and learners on how to conduct the test. It also includes a downloadable PDF of the NAT Answer Sheet for Grade 6. Finally, it highlights the Do’s and Don’ts, particularly in handling the answer sheet for the National Achievement Test.
The Department of Education used the NAT as a benchmark for the academic performance of each school in the country. It is clearly stated in DepEd Order No. 55 s. 2016, that the National Achievement Test for Grade 6 is considered a tool to help school administrators determine whether their educational programs and teaching methodologies effectively achieve the national standards of education. These standards are set by our current curriculum, K-12 Basic Education. Nevertheless, the NAT results are utilized primarily for the systematic evaluation of our educational institutions and are not intended to affect the individual academic progress of each learner. Thus, learners who got failing scores in NAT Grade 6 do not face direct consequences like retention in the same grade level or failing grades (DepEd Order No. 55 s. 2016).
Important Insight regarding NAT Answer Sheet for Grade 6 and 12
It is important to note that the Department of Education, through the Bureau of Education Assessment, will provide the official answer sheet for the National Achievement Test. However, we uploaded here a sample answer sheet for you to work on in the review session for your learners. The NAT Answer Sheet typically consists of two pages and the front contains the basic information of the learner. On the other hand, the back page served as the actual answer sheet for the test.
Furthermore, additional instructions or reminders are written in the NAT Examiner’s Handbook. These particular reminders must be read and explained, if necessary, by the examiner.
