These goals include building phonemic awareness, decoding skills, and recognizing sight words to facilitate fluent reading in the first language. Concurrently, the curriculum aims to foster a positive reading attitude, nurturing a love for reading through exposure to age-appropriate and engaging texts.
Remember that under the Matatag Curriculum, especially in Key Stage 1, there are allotted sessions for the NRP or National Reading Program.
