E-IMPACT – Alapan 1 Elementary School
The IMPACT (Parental, Community, and Teacher Instruction) program was launched in the ’70s with the support of the International Development Research Center (IDRC). The program relies heavily on self-study modules based on the Department of Education’s curriculum. As the basic education curriculum changes over time, these learning resources were also updated. The materials are also enhanced with other multimedia features such as audio and video add-ons and self-study modules in computer education. Thus, the learning program was renamed e-IMPACT because of these technology-based enhancements. The program was piloted in six (6) schools across the country, one in the Luzon area, three in Bicol County, one in Central Visayas, and one in Province 9, Mindanao.
E-IMPACT (Instructional Management by Parents, Community, and Teachers) Enhancement of the Technology Component
The INNOTECH Research and Innovation Research Office have completed the Implementation Guidebook for the IMPACT program. Copies of this have been distributed to stakeholders including school principals from TAOS-supported schools. Also, a total of 320 IMPACT study materials (RBEC) have been reviewed and aligned to the curriculum of K to 12 including newly developed mother-language modules.

DepEd’s two major ADMs include Modified In-School, Off-School Approach (MISOSA) and Advanced Parental, Community, and Educational Management (IMPACT) MISOSA. MISOSA involves dividing overcrowded classes (with more than 50 students) in Grades 4, 5, and 6 into a School Group consisting of classes and subject teachers and a School Group consisting of paired or volunteer teachers. On the other hand, E-IMPACT ADM is an advanced ADM technology that addresses the problems of accessibility and quality of education in schools run by a few teachers who teach a variety of classes, and allows students who tend to miss long periods or seasons to get in and out of there. what is needed, learning modules with the support of other students, family members, and the community, and their progress / progress is measured by the skills tests performed in the school.
