Cash Allowance DepEd – Alapan 1 Elementary School
The start of classes for School Year 2022-2023 is on August 22, 2022, and most of the teachers need to be prepared. During Brigada Eskwela, teachers are always tired of preparing their classrooms and sometimes materials used in this preparation are from their own pockets. Thus, teachers requested additional support from DepEd. The Department of Education (DepEd) will be giving public school teachers P5,000 each as cash assistance (allowance) to help them prepare for the school year. The funds will be handed over to teachers starting Monday, August 22, said Department of Economics spokesman Michael Poa.
“Lahat po ng teachers, makakatanggap. Ibababa po iyan sa, I think, mga school division. I’ll confirm [the details] pero lahat po ay makatatanggap by August 22 noong P5,000 cash allowance,” Spokesman Michael Poa said during a joint press conference with the Office of the Vice President.
(All teachers will get a stipend. I think it will be given through the school divisions. I confirm the details, but all teachers will get a P5,000 cash stipend until August 22.)
DepEd Spokesman added also that besides providing cash assistance to teachers, Poa said the Department of Economy is also considering providing them with loans and other non-financial benefits.
“Mga chalk and all that should be part of the MOOE of the schools. Itong P5,000 ay lalo na iyong mga kailangan ng internet connection parang additional assistance lang po talaga iyan for our teachers,” he added.
(Chalk and other classroom essentials should be part of the MOOE. The P5000 allowance is just extra help for teachers, especially if they need funding for internet connection, etc.)
He also noted that additional fund is allocated separately for school maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE).
