Face Mask is NOT REQUIRED Outdoors
The recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to permit the voluntary use of face masks outdoors in the midst of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic was approved by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. after some consideration, according to Malacañang.
Meanwhile, Angeles said that some other policies in relation with this EO like define terms like “outside” and “good ventilation,” will be decided by the local government because they are in charge of enforcement in these situations.

Face Mask is Not Required Outdoors according to EO No. 3
In accordance with Executive Order No. 3, it is now acceptable to wear face masks voluntarily in open areas and sparsely populated outdoor locations with sufficient ventilation, provided that physical distance is maintained at all times.
However, it is still “strongly encouraged” for the following people to wear their masks:
- Non-fully vaccinated individuals
- Senior citizens
- Immunocompromised individuals
