After passing the LET, you might think to apply as a teacher in the Department of Education. One part of the process in DepEd Ranking for new teacher-applicant is to pass your English Proficiency Test (EPT). It appears to be yet another obstacle. Yes, but according to DepEd Order No. 7 s. 2015, if you want to work as a DepEd teacher, you must pass this exam because it is a component of the ranking points. The scoring for this will be 15%.

DepEd EPT Exam for Teacher-Applicants
The National Education Testing and Research Center (NETRC) conduct administered the English Proficiency Test (EPT) for all teacher-applicants. Regarding the administration, which actually occur between February and March, each Division Testing Coordinators must coordinate with NETRC.
The applicant’s overall percentage score is multiplied by a weight of fifteen (15) points, as follows:
Percentage Score = 98% or 0.98;
Weighted Points = 15;
Rating =.98 x 15 = 14.7 points.
