DepEd In-Service Training (INSET) 2023
Are you ready for DepEd INSET (In-Service Training) 2023? According to School Calendar for SY 2022-2023, INSET and MPRE are scheduled on February 6 – 10, 2023. This training will focus on developing effective implementation of the current curriculum. The Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) will be used to inform and enrich the curriculum, the Department of Education (DepEd) underlines. The K–12 curriculum review is still ongoing. In order to have focus on teaching and important competencies that learners must acquire as we anticipate problems in the delivery of learning, it is necessary in this case to unpack the Most Essential Learning Competencies.
Teachers must be evaluated using the Results-based Performance Monitoring System (RPMS) Tool as it reflects the outcomes of their performance in order to guarantee that students have learned the requisite competencies. To meet the demands of this circumstance, it is necessary for teachers to examine Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCR) and portfolio preparation.

DepEd Order No. 34’s Section 34 provides that 2022 title School Calendar and Activities for School Year 2022–2023, the mid-year break is scheduled on February 6–10, 2023. The first two days of the five-day mid-year break may be used for the mid-year performance review and evaluation of school-based personnel as well as the evaluation of the school’s progress attained in the implementation of the programs, projects, and activities (PPAs), while the last three days may be used for the conduct of the School Performance Review. The School-based In-Service Training (INSET) activities for the teachers’ continuing professional development and the preparation of their instructional materials.

The school-based INSET must cover subjects and skills that address the teachers’ training and development needs as outlined in Part IV: Development Needs of the IPCRF, as well as an analysis of the consolidated IPCRF for each school as seen in the performance evaluation that was conducted and the outcomes of the most recent E-SAT, which show that activities must be in line with the school’s annual implementation plan and its annual L&D or professional development plan.
