DepEd MATATAG Curriculum Guide (CG) for Grade 5

Adapting to new approaches in teaching and learning, the Department of Education (DepEd) has set a roadmap for the review and updating its MATATAG Curriculum Guide for Grade 5. The DepEd MATATAG Curriculum for Grade 5 takes your child’s learning to a whole new level! This program offers a rich blend of learning areas that cater to both academic and personal development:

• Filipino and English: Students further refine their communication skills in both languages. They tackle more complex grammar structures, build advanced vocabulary, and master the art of expressing themselves clearly through writing, speaking, and reading.
• Mathematics: Get ready for a mathematical leap! Students delve deeper into fractions, decimals, and percentages. They develop problem-solving strategies to tackle more challenging word problems and apply mathematical concepts to real-world situations.
• Science: The scientific journey continues! Students learn about various scientific phenomena through exciting experiments and observations. They explore the human body, delve into the wonders of the solar system, and gain a deeper understanding of the natural world.
• Araling Panlipunan (Social Studies): Unravel the mysteries of history and geography. Students explore the world map in greater detail, learn about different political systems, and delve into significant historical events that shaped the Philippines and the world.

Kasi kahit hindi mo na yan turuan pag naging interesado yan, magbabasa yan at magdi-discover ng mundo on their own,” added Usec. San Antonio. In addition, DepEd will also review the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) implemented this school year and assess if these are sufficient for learners to acquire knowledge and skills.
