A total of 95,654 examinees took the qualifying exam, with the majority coming from the National Capital Region. This number reflects a 6.85% increase from the previous year’s DOST-SEI Scholarship Examination. However, previous results show that the passing rate consistently ranges between 10% to 15%. This means only around 10,000 examinees will qualify to proceed with their scholarship application. The DOST scholarship is open to all incoming college students who meet the eligibility requirements and pass the exam. It applies exclusively to science and technology-related courses, as the department aims to maintain a strong pool of experts to support national growth and innovation.
