This week marks Week 2 of Quarter 4, which also signals the actual start of Quarter 4 lesson discussions across grade levels. With regular instruction now fully underway, teachers are expected to reinforce key competencies, introduce new lessons, and ensure that learning activities remain aligned with curriculum standards. Careful planning is essential to maintain lesson continuity and support learner progress as the final quarter progresses. To assist educators during this period, the Daily Lesson Log (DLL) for Week 2 of Quarter 4 (February 2–6, 2026) is now available for free download for all grade levels.
This week’s DLL also highlights important school and system-wide activities. It coincides with the start of the month-long Early Registration, allowing schools to intensify information drives and enrollment-related tasks for the incoming school year. At the same time, the week marks the end of the National Achievement Test (NAT) for the Grade 12 testing window, as indicated in the School Calendar for SY 2025–2026. These activities require teachers to balance instructional responsibilities with administrative duties while ensuring that classroom learning remains focused, organized, and productive.

Overview About the Matatag Curriculum
The Department of Education launched a revised version of the K-12 Basic Education Curriculum aimed at narrowing the competencies. The Department based the MATATAG Curriculum on its MATATAG Agenda and included the following core principles.
- Make the curriculum relevant to produce competent, job-ready, active, and responsible citizens;
- Take steps to accelerate the delivery of basic education facilities and services.
- Take good care of learners by promoting learner well-being, inclusive education, and a positive learning environment; and
- Give support to teachers to teach better.
