3rd Quarter Periodical Tests GRADE 2 with TOS and Answer Key

The DepEd School Calendar for 2025-2026 scheduled the 3rd Periodical Test on January 22 and 23, 2026. The 3rd Quarter Periodical Test (SY 2025-2026) is a set of test questionnaires for Quarter 3 based on TOS made for Grade 2. In education, “periodical test” refers to the various techniques teachers use to evaluate students’ understanding, skills, and overall progress. These tests are essential in providing a clear picture of the student’s learning and areas where further support may be needed. Periodical tests, specifically designed for each grading period, offer both teachers and students an opportunity to reflect on a whole quarter.

For Grade 2 in the 3rd Quarter, the competencies assessed cover a broad range of subjects, including English, Mathematics, and GMRC. In English, students are tested on their ability to read and comprehend texts, as well as their proficiency in writing simple sentences and paragraphs. Mathematics focuses on concepts such as addition and subtraction, multiplication, time, and measurements. These periodical tests, accompanied by a Table of Specifications (TOS) and Answer Key, ensure that assessments are aligned with the grade level’s curriculum and offer a clear view of students’ progress throughout the quarter.

Assessments are frequently created to gauge particular aspects of learning, such as a student’s level of familiarity with the subject or skill the teacher plans to teach, or their capacity to understand and evaluate a variety of texts and readings, much as academic sessions serve varied purposes.
