The Department of Education (DepEd) introduced the Literacy and Numeracy Knowledge (LiNK) Tests to measure learners’ literacy and numeracy skills across key stages. Participating schools now use the LiNK Tests instead of several separate diagnostic assessments. As a result, schools follow one unified assessment system that provides more meaningful data to support classroom instruction and targeted learning interventions. On this page, you can read the complete guidelines and download the official scoresheets for the Department of Education’s Literacy and Numeracy Knowledge (LiNK) Tests.
To help school heads, testing coordinators, and teachers prepare for the assessment, we have compiled the official DepEd LiNK scoresheets, submission templates, and administration guidelines in one convenient page. Whether you are looking for the latest forms, scoring templates, or implementation guidelines, you can download the official resources here and stay updated with the latest DepEd issuances regarding the LiNK Tests.
What is the DepEd LiNK Test?
The Literacy and Numeracy Knowledge (LiNK) Tests are a harmonized diagnostic assessment system developed by the Department of Education (DepEd). Thus, this test is primarily designed to measure learners’ literacy and numeracy skills across key stages. Unlike previous standalone diagnostic assessments like ELLNA, the LiNK Tests provide a unified framework that enables clearer interpretation of learner performance. Furthermore, it allows results to be compared across grade levels. The LiNK helps schools and teachers obtain more meaningful data to improve instruction and learning interventions.
Purpose of the Assessment
The LiNK Tests help improve teaching and learning by giving teachers timely and reliable information about their learners’ literacy and numeracy skills. Using the LiNK results, teachers can adjust their teaching strategies and create intervention programs. In addition, participating schools can simplify the assessment process because the LiNK Tests replace several separate diagnostic tools, including the Comprehensive Rapid Literacy Assessment (CRLA), Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI), Rapid Math Assessment (RMA), and Senior High School Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (SHS LNA), with one unified assessment system.
Diagnostic—Not a Graded Examination
It is important to remember that the LiNK Tests are diagnostic assessments, not graded examinations. They do not affect learners’ report card grades and are not used to determine promotion or retention. Instead, the results show what learners already know before formal instruction begins. This gives teachers a clear starting point and helps them identify learning gaps early in the school year. As a result, teachers can provide the support that learners need from the very beginning. This approach follows DepEd’s assessment framework, which encourages schools to use assessment results to improve teaching and learning instead of simply assigning grades.
