Second Teacher-made Summative Tests for Term 1 | Free Download

As we approach the end of Term 1, another summative test will be conducted with the same level of importance as the other examinations. The Department of Education (DepEd) introduced a new classroom assessment policy through DepEd Order No. 015, s. 2026. This policy aligns classroom assessments with the MATATAG Curriculum and the Three-Term School Calendar. For Term 1, schools will administer the second teacher-made Summative Test on July 28, 2026. It covers the competencies taught from Weeks 4 to 6 based on the Budget of Work (BOW). In this page, you can download a collection of 2nd teacher-made summative test with prepared Table of Specification, if needed.

Under these updated guidelines, teachers prepare teacher-made Summative Tests that measure learners’ achievement based on the competencies they have actually taught during each instructional period.

We have compiled the Second Teacher-made Summative Tests for Term 1 for various grade levels and learning areas. These ready-to-use and editable assessments are designed to align with the MATATAG Curriculum and follow the latest DepEd guidelines, helping teachers assess learner progress while reducing preparation time. Before using any test, teachers should review and adjust the content to match the competencies and lessons covered in their own classrooms.

What Are the First Teacher-made Summative Tests?

The First Teacher-Made Summative Test (ST2) is an important assessment prepared and administered by subject teachers during the academic term. The Teacher-Made Summative Test also plays a significant role in determining a learner’s academic performance, as it comprises 9% of the learner’s final grade. Because of its contribution to the final grade, learners are encouraged to prepare seriously, review their lessons thoroughly, and demonstrate their best performance during the examination.

Under DepEd Order No. 015, s. 2026, teachers are expected to give two Summative Tests (ST1 and ST2) and one Term Examination (TE) every term. The first Summative Test is generally given after the first 15 instructional days, covering only the competencies taught during that period. This approach allows teachers to monitor learners’ progress early, identify learning gaps, and provide timely interventions before the next set of lessons begins.

Coverage of the 2nd Summative Test

The Second Teacher-Made Summative Test (ST2) covers the lessons discussed after the First Teacher-Made Summative Test and throughout the succeeding instructional days of the term. Each question is aligned with the learning competencies in the MATATAG Curriculum, ensuring that the assessment measures the knowledge, skills, and understanding learners are expected to develop. Since the test includes only the lessons that have already been taught in class, it provides a fair opportunity for learners to demonstrate what they have learned.

Like the First Teacher-Made Summative Test, the Second Teacher-Made Summative Test is prepared by the subject teachers to match their classroom instruction and address the learning needs of their students. It also plays an important role in determining a learner’s academic performance, as it forms part of the Exam component, which contributes to the learner’s final grade

Important Reminder for Teachers and Learners

Before giving the summative test, review every item to ensure it is clear, accurate, and aligned with the learning competencies. You may also revise or replace questions based on your learners’ progress and the lessons you have completed.

According to DepEd Order No. 015, s. 2026, each term includes two Summative Tests (ST1 and ST2) and one Term Examination (TE). As a guide, the number of items in each Summative Test should not exceed half of the total items in the Term Examination (TE).

Suggested number of items for each Summative Test (ST):

  • Grades 1–3: Teacher-determined (developmentally appropriate)
  • Grades 4–6: Up to 20 items
  • Grades 7–10: Up to 25 items
  • Grades 11–12: Up to 30 items

Most importantly, administer the assessment only after all the covered competencies have been taught. This ensures a fair and meaningful evaluation of what learners have actually learned.
