E-Class Record (Grading Sheets) for SY 2026-2027 | Free Download

Electronic Class Record (ECR) Templates help teachers compute grades based on current DepEd policies and guidelines on grading, awards, and recognition. An ICT expert teacher created these grading sheets with the assistance of A.I. To make the templates easier to use and maintain, the developer used simple spreadsheet features. Because of this, teachers can avoid common technical issues while using the files. In addition, these ECR Templates follow the latest DepEd updates, including descriptive grading and the new transmutation table. Teachers may download and use the Excel files for free through the link below.

All public school teachers may use these Electronic Class Record (ECR) Templates without any charge. The templates help teachers calculate grades according to the official policy on the Revised Guidelines on Classroom Assessment, Grading System, and Awards and Recognition for the K to 12 Basic Education Program.

Teachers are encouraged to use Electronic Class Records to ensure accurate grading and student ranking. Many teachers find E-Class Records helpful in monitoring student performance and keeping records organized. However, some teachers still use traditional recording methods and are not yet familiar with modern technology.

Changes in the Grading System under the Three-Term School Calendar

The grading system underwent major changes after the implementation of the three-term school calendar and the full adoption of the MATATAG Curriculum. Firstly, the new system now distributes grades into three components: Written Works, Performance Tasks, and Summative and Term Examinations.

Then, the Summative and Term Examination component includes two teacher-made summative quizzes and one standardized term examination. Together, these assessments make up 30% of the learner’s grade in most learning areas. Meanwhile, written works such as short quizzes and written outputs now account for only 20% of the grade.

Use of Descriptive Grading

The Department of Education will use different grading approaches for each key stage to support learners’ growth and help them adjust to higher standards more smoothly. In addition, Key Stage 1 (Kindergarten to Grade 3) will use a descriptive grading system. Instead of focusing on numerical scores, this approach highlights learners’ progress and development. It also gives importance to basic skills such as reading, writing, numeracy, and socio-emotional growth. Through descriptive grading, teachers can provide clear and meaningful feedback, while parents can better support their children’s learning. At the same time, this system helps reduce academic pressure among young learners.

Meanwhile, Key Stages 2 to 4 (Grades 4 to 12) will continue to use numerical grading. Teachers will still compute grades based on summative assessments. In addition, the final grade will be based on the assigned weight for each assessment component, such as Written Works, Performance Tasks, and Summative Tests, depending on the learning area.

New Transmutation Table

Starting School Year 2026–2027, DepEd will also implement an adjusted transmutation table. This will serve as a transition while schools gradually move away from the current grading practices and prepare for the full implementation of a zero-based grading system in the next school year. Moreover, the adjusted table aims to make grading fairer and more accurate. It will also give both teachers and learners enough time to adapt to higher academic expectations.

Hot Topic: Academic Award is now 95 and above

Many viral posts claim that the Department of Education has revised its policy on awards and recognition. According to these posts, the Academic Excellence Award now applies to learners with a general average of 95 and above, provided they do not have grades lower than 85. Because of this, many teachers, parents, and learners expressed concern. They felt that the change may undermine the effort needed to achieve high grades.

However, based on our extensive review, we found no official DepEd Order that confirms this policy change. Instead, the information seems to come from various national orientations about adjustments related to the Three-Term Calendar. In addition, raising the General Weighted Average requirement for honor recognition may bring both positive and negative effects.
