The Department of Education, in its DepEd Order 10 (s. 2026), introduces the 2026 ARAL Summer Remediation Program (SRP) in accordance with R.A. 12028. It focuses on strengthening essential skills in literacy, numeracy, and other core subjects, based on each learner’s actual needs. The ARAL-SRP with the theme “Turong may Puso. Tulong na may Bunga” provides structured support for learners who need additional guidance before the next school year begins. Through this initiative, schools can address learning gaps in a timely and organized way. Furthermore, we are here to guide you through the implementation and materials needed to ensure the success of your ARAL Summer Remediation Program.
This page on ARAL SRP also includes prepared materials and clear guidelines for teachers, as we mentioned earlier. These resources help ensure consistent and effective implementation across schools. Teachers can use the materials to design focused lessons and monitor learner progress. With proper planning and support, the program aims to make summer learning meaningful, engaging, and productive for all participants.
Key Features of the 2026 Summer Remediation Program
The Summer Remediation Program 2026 consists of various programs that target specific groups of learners based on their grade level. The main focus includes the ARAL Program, SHS Remediation, and the Remedial Program, as shown in Table 1 entitled “2026 SRPs.” In accordance with the DepEd Order mentioned above, the programs related to the SRP shall be implemented from May 6 to June 2, 2026.

The Department of Education also stated that schools will integrate existing intervention programs, such as the “Bawat Bata Makababasa Program” and the Literacy Remediation Program, into this new remediation initiative. In addition, the department has decided to end the implementation of the annual National Learning Camp (DO 014, s. 2023). To ensure maximum opportunities to address the growing learning gaps, DepEd encourages learners to participate in various literacy and reading programs, including those from other agencies, such as the “Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program” of the DSWD.
The Summer Remediation Program shall be implemented through face-to-face, online, or blended learning modalities, depending on the school’s context, learner needs, or available resources. Furthermore, the SRP shall run from Monday to Friday, with Fridays designated for home-based learning for learners and for teachers’ preparation of instructional materials and documentation of learner progress. On home-based learning days, teachers shall provide minimal supervision while guiding learners in completing assigned remote tasks.

Identification of Summer Remediation Program Learners
There are two ways to identify learners who need to undergo the SRPs. The first is the Summer Academic Remedial Program, which will target learners with failing final grades in some learning areas for SY 2025–2026. Specifically, this includes incoming Grades 5 to 11 learners who did not obtain a passing grade in one or two learning areas, as well as SHS learners who failed any learning area at the end of the first or second semester.
For ARAL-related SRPs, the target learners shall be identified based on the results of their EOSY assessments, as shown below.

Online Orientation on ARAL Summer Program
This video features the Department of Education (DepEd) Online Orientation on the ARAL Summer Remediation Program. The session provides an overview of the program’s goals, guidelines, and implementation strategies and additional academic assistance.
The orientation discusses the objectives of the ARAL Program, target learners, roles of schools and teachers, schedules, and key reminders for effective implementation during the summer break. This initiative aims to strengthen foundational skills and help learners prepare for the upcoming school year.
DepEd Materials for Summer Remediation 2026
Relevant, quality-assured materials for tutors and learners shall be distributed to schools before the start of the ARAL Summer and SHS Remediation Programs. Schools shall ensure that each tutor and learner receives a complete set. However, we also prepared optional materials you can use to implement this program.
