Importance of Brigada Eskwela

In the past, the Department of Education has struggled with the lack of priority for education in the country. This is reflected in a shortage of resources for public schools, a lack of classrooms, overcrowded classrooms. At the opening of the school, students and teachers have to put up with an untidy classroom, chairs with broken armrests and other things that need repair. To alleviate these problems, DepEd launched the Adopt-a-School Program (ASP) campaign in 1998. This allows for partnerships with other stakeholders willing to share resources to improve education in the nation’s public schools.

A few years later, the spirit of volunteerism reached an unexpected peak, bringing the Brigada Eskwela to the communities. The practice of this program is very important for school leaders, teachers, and students or for the school community. Because it saves and secures resources from the school. The tireless support and efforts of various stakeholders have resulted to improvements in learning environment. Teachers can now begin classroom instruction on the first day of school, and students can now focus on their lessons.
