The Department of Education started to assess and limitedly implement the revised K-10 Curriculum which more familiarly known as MATATAG Curriculum. Adapting to new approaches in teaching and learning, the Department of Education (DepEd) has set a roadmap for the review and updating of curriculum for Kinder to Grade 1 in its Matatag Curriculum. “Ang initial agreements talaga namin para sa Kinder hanggang Grade 3, mas paiigtingin natin yung pagbabasa, pagcompute at social emotional skills. Gusto natin mas simple pero marunong na marunong,” Undersecretary Diosdado San Antonio said. This program will be the main focus of the educational sectors in the succeeding school years. To promote the public awareness regarding the implementation of MATATAG Curriculum, the department released the Brand Guidelines for DepEd-MATATAG.
In compliance with Memorandum Circular No. 24 series 2023 of the Office of the President, the Department of Education shall incorporate the Bagong Pilipinas logo in all communication materials of the Department. All departments, regions, divisions, and schools will use these guidelines in their official documents. Personnel must strictly follow the DepEd-MATATAG Brand Guidelines in all official communications and collateral materials. However, they may still use the official DepEd logo separately, provided they follow the guidelines in the DepEd’s Service Marks and Visual Identity Manual (DO No. 031 s. 2019).
Important Points of DepEd-MATATAG Brand Guidelines
- The MATATAG brand mark (Matatag heart) can be used in isolation from the rest of the logo elements.
- When applied to various media, ensure prominence of the DepEd-MATATAG and Bagong Pilipinas logo in terms of placement and proportion compared with other elements.
- For logo placement in official documents, the merged DepEd-MATATAG and Bagong Pilipinas logos must be placed on the leftmost position of the footer of the document. See the Sample Official Documents with DepEd-MATATAG and Bagong Pilipinas Logo.
