This week marks Week 3 of Quarter 4, covering February 9 – 13, 2026, and continues the full implementation of Quarter 4 lesson discussions across grade levels. With regular instruction in progress, teachers are expected to strengthen key competencies and introduce new concepts. Furthermore, it ensures that learning activities remain aligned with curriculum standards. Careful planning remains essential to maintain lesson continuity and support learner progress as the final quarter moves forward. To assist educators during this period, the Daily Lesson Log (DLL) for Week 3 of Quarter 4 is now available for free download for all grade levels.
This week’s DLL also highlights several important national and school-based observances. It aligns with the celebration of Valentine’s Day, promoting values of kindness, respect, and positive relationships among learners. It also supports activities for Safer Internet Day for Children Philippines, which encourages responsible and secure online behavior. In addition, the DLL integrates themes for the National Awareness Week for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation, helping schools strengthen child protection initiatives. Through these focus areas, teachers can connect academic lessons with character development, digital safety, and student well-being while keeping classroom instruction organized and meaningful.

Overview About the Matatag Curriculum
The Department of Education launched a revised version of the K-12 Basic Education Curriculum aimed at narrowing the competencies. The Department based the MATATAG Curriculum on its MATATAG Agenda and included the following core principles.
- Make the curriculum relevant to produce competent, job-ready, active, and responsible citizens;
- Take steps to accelerate the delivery of basic education facilities and services.
- Take good care of learners by promoting learner well-being, inclusive education, and a positive learning environment; and
- Give support to teachers to teach better.
