Grade 4 now fully follows the streamlined competencies of the MATATAG Curriculum. To support your preparation, we provide ready-to-use Daily Lesson Logs (DLLs). These are aligned with the Three-Term School Calendar and the updated DLL format. We know that creating a DLL from scratch takes time and effort. It becomes more challenging during the planning stage, especially when you need to design effective classroom activities that match the required competencies. Because of this, we made updated Matatag Grade 4 DLLs for Term 1 of School Year 2026–2027 that you can download.
You can freely download and edit these DLLs. They help you deliver quality, competency-based, and responsive instruction in the classroom. You may use them for English, Math, Filipino, GMRC, and other regular subjects. In addition, you can adjust them to match your teaching style and preferences. Finally, it is important to understand the basic structure and purpose of the Daily Lesson Log so you can use it effectively in your daily teaching.

The Daily Lesson Log is a standard template that helps teachers to plan and organize daily lessons. In this Grade 4 Term 1 DLL, teachers can easily map out activities for each part of the lesson under the Matatag Curriculum.
What is the Matatag Curriculum for Grade 4?
The Matatag Curriculum for Grade 4 is primarily designed as a transition stage from foundational learning skills to more comprehensive classroom instruction. Therefore, this revised curriculum aims to enhance the quality and relevance of learning from Kindergarten to Grade 10. It seeks to address the challenges of the previous K-12 program by decongesting content and focusing on essential competencies. Additionally, it prioritizes the early development of foundational learning skills, such as reading and numeracy.

The Matatag Curriculum framework places Grade 4 at one of the most important stages of learning development. At this stage, learners focus on critical thinking and social education. You must integrate the principles and elements of the Matatag Curriculum that targets well into your DLL for Term 1. You should choose the best classroom activities and write their objectives and processes in your Daily Lesson Logs.

Term 1 Budget of Work (BoW)
The Budget of Work (BoW) helps teachers keep learning sessions on the right schedule. With the new school calendar, learning competencies are now divided into three terms. We align our Daily Lesson Logs with the prescribed competencies. In addition, we organize them on a weekly basis. Each term usually covers about 12 weeks. Therefore, the BoW serves as a guide for planning lessons throughout the term. It is important to review it regularly so you can stay on track with your teaching plan.
