As the new school year begins, teachers and learners are excited to embark on a meaningful learning journey toward shared success. This school year brings several changes in many aspects of teaching due to the Three-Term School Calendar. The Department of Education will gradually implement Phase 2 of the K to 10 MATATAG Curriculum. Also, this ambiguity is what we aim to address by offering you our ready-to-use Daily Lesson Log (DLL) for Grade 6 in Term 1.
The recent changes only affect how competencies are distributed across three terms. However, Grade 6 is now moving into the implementation stage of the MATATAG Curriculum, just like the other grade levels. Because of this, many saved Daily Lesson Logs (DLLs) are now outdated and need replacement. We aim to help teachers with this update. In addition, we want to make teaching less stressful and more manageable. Our DLL collection follows the MATATAG Curriculum and uses a three-term calendar format.
The Daily Lesson Log (DLL) is an important teaching tool that serves as a clear guide for our classroom interactions. It is used in various parts of the teaching-learning process, including pre-discussion, the actual lesson, and assessment. In addition, this simple document is considered a plan that outlines how, when, and what to teach in order to achieve meaningful learning. The DLLs we uploaded here are safe to download and use. You are also free to revise their content or teaching methodologies to better fit your teaching style.
What’s New in our Daily Lesson Log or DLL for School Year 2026-2027
The Daily Lesson Log (DLL) plays an important role in the education system. It helps teachers plan and organize their daily lessons based on the curriculum, especially the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) or the updated MATATAG Curriculum. Furthermore, DLL guides teachers in setting clear objectives for each lesson. It also outlines the content, strategies, and assessments for the day. As a result, teachers deliver lessons in a clear and organized way.
In addition, the DLL serves as a record of instruction. School heads and DepEd supervisors use it to check classroom activities and ensure that the curriculum is properly covered. Moreover, it helps teachers reflect on their teaching. They can evaluate what works well and what needs improvement.
Furthermore, the DLL supports collaboration among teachers. They can share ideas and align their lesson plans to ensure consistency across classes. Because of this, teaching becomes more unified and effective. Overall, the DLL improves the quality of instruction. It also ensures that learners receive well-prepared and competency-based education every day.
Grade 6 Coverage for Term 1
For School Year 2026–2027, Grade 6 will use a revised curriculum. Last year marked the final use of the MELCs-based curriculum. However, you still need to review the previous competencies because they may remain useful. Because of this, we also included our crafted Daily Lesson Logs (DLLs) based on MELCs in this page.
We designed the DLLs to support your teaching needs. Still, we cannot list every Grade 6 competency for Term 1. Instead, we provided the content and performance standards. These will help you understand the overall coverage of each DLL. In addition, we placed the updated Budget of Work (BoW) below. You can use it to check and confirm the accuracy of our collection.
