We understand that it might be challenging for you to get everything ready before the start of classes. For example, your Daily Lesson Log might need significant revisions due to new curricular trends and implementation of the Three-Term School Calendar.
Remember, other grade levels are now using the revised K to 10 MATATAG Program with streamlined competencies. Thus, we’re sharing the updated Grade 9 Daily Lesson Log (DLL) for Term 1, ready-to-use and editable. You can download these DLLs, which are aligned with the Matatag Curriculum.
Whether you’re a seasoned teacher or new to Grade 9, these DLLs help you deliver organized, effective, and learner-centered instruction. It is essential to be aware of some of the key features of the DLL. The Daily Lesson Log (DLL) is a teacher’s tool used to plan and organize daily classroom instruction. It outlines the lesson’s objectives, content, learning activities, assessment methods, and required materials. The Department of Education (DepEd) requires the DLL to ensure that lessons align with the curriculum standards and promote effective teaching and learning in the classroom.
The main focus of MELCs for Grade 9 in Term 1
DepEd streamlined the original K–12 Basic Education Program into the MATATAG Curriculum during the three-term school calendar. Since then, the department has continued to implement it in the succeeding years. As more grade levels now follow the MATATAG Curriculum, Grade 9 teachers need to keep in mind the target learning outcomes stated in the MELCs.
The target outcomes of Grade 9 Term 1 focused on strengthening learners’ analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to apply concepts in real-life situations. In addition, they are expected to deepen their understanding of interconnected systems and express ideas effectively through various forms of communication. The competencies also aim to develop responsible decision-making, collaboration, and creativity across learning areas.
Overview of Learning Areas for Grade 9 in Term 1
Please remember that the Grade 9 competencies have been redistributed across class days because of the new school calendar scheme. Because of this, you need to revise your old teaching materials to make sure they remain accurate and aligned with the updated curriculum.
We also want to inform you that the Daily Lesson Logs (DLLs) uploaded here are based on MATATAG. In addition, we made the necessary revisions to ensure that these DLLs reflect the latest changes in DepEd policies. At this time, we cannot individually list all the competencies included in our Daily Lesson Logs. However, you may refer to the content and performance standards for Grade 9 Term 1.

Budget of Work (BoW) for Grade 9
In School Year 2026–2027, the department released the new Budget of Work (BoW) to align the competencies with the three-term school calendar. Instead of four quarters, the school year now follows three terms, which changed the distribution of learning days.
Because of these changes, many teachers may face challenges in preparing their lesson plans or Daily Lesson Logs (DLL).
