Welcome to our updated Grade 3 Daily Lesson Log (DLL) for Term 1 of School Year 2026–2027 under the MATATAG Curriculum. In line with DepEd Order No. 10 (s. 2024), Grade 3 will officially implement the MATATAG Curriculum this school year. In addition, classes will open on June 8 under the new Three-Term School Calendar. We created this free resource to help teachers save time in lesson planning and focus more on classroom instruction. These downloadable DLLs provide updated, accurate content that aligns with the latest format and curriculum standards.

Whether you are a newly hired teacher or already have years of experience in DepEd, you may find these resources useful. They can help lessen your workload and give you more time for other important tasks. Also, experienced teachers prepared the Grade 3 Daily Lesson Logs for Term 1, and they designed them as supplementary teaching materials. The Daily Lesson Log (DLL) remains an important tool for every teacher. Since preparing one can take time and effort, it is important to follow the guidelines set by the MATATAG Curriculum to ensure proper lesson delivery.

What is the Matatag Curriculum for Grade 3?

The Grade 3 MATATAG Curriculum uses an Instructional Design Framework that focuses on three important pillars: Curriculum, Teaching, and Assessment. This framework follows the principle of optimal learning to help teachers achieve the target competencies. At the same time, the curriculum places learners at the centre of lesson planning and learning activities.

The success of this curriculum depends on teachers who use a holistic, innovative, and learner-centred approach. Because of this, teachers should adapt their Daily Lesson Log (DLL) by using teaching methods and strategies that actively engage learners. In addition, the teaching and learning process should focus on developing critical thinking and essential skills. These skills should serve as the foundation of classroom activities.

The Matatag Curriculum includes Grade 3, which treats it as a springboard to formal schooling. At this grade level, teachers begin to deliver instruction with subjects taught separately, giving learners their first exposure to this format. It is a crucial stage in the learning journey where learners must begin to establish their foundational skills.

Grade 3 Class Program and Budget of Work (BoW)

As in the previous grade levels, the learning areas have been reduced to only five. The Grade 3 Matatag Curriculum no longer includes MAPEH and Mother Tongue as separate subjects. In addition, you can refer to the table below for a sample classroom program for Grade 3. The table includes additional intervention sessions such as the ARAL Program (Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning).

The implementation of the Three-Term School Calendar has changed how competencies are distributed across learning days. The school year is now divided into three terms, with each term having around 12 weeks. Since this setup is still new, many teachers may find it challenging to prepare their lessons and activities. Because of this, the department also released a revised Budget of Work (BoW). You can download it to check if the competencies in your DLLs are still aligned and on track.

English	Learners expand their vocabulary and use simple and compound sentences to understand, analyze, and create texts on regional themes and content-specific topics. Filipino	Naipapakita ng mag-aaral ang husay sa pagbigkas at pag-aaral ng tunog at salita, pati na rin ang pag-unawa at pagsusuri ng mga tekstong naratibo at impormatibo.	Nagagamit ng mag-aaral ang kasanayan sa tamang pagbigkas at pagbasa ng mga salita at pangungusap nang may katatasan at wastong ekspresyon sa pang-araw-araw na usapan.
Mathematics	The learners should have knowledge and understanding of areas of squares and rectangles, points, lines, line segments, and rays.	The learners can determine the area of squares and rectangles, and recognize and draw points, lines, line segments, rays, and parallel and perpendicular lines.
Science	Science helps us understand the natural world. By using science process skills, simple tools, and guided activities, learners can deepen their understanding.	Learners explore local materials and their properties through simple science processes, and practice safe handling of equipment and materials.
Makabansa	Nauunawaan ang kasaysayan ng kinabibilangang pook bilang bahagi ng mas malawak na komunidad.	Nakagagawa ng likhang-sining na nagpapakita ng kasaysayan at pagbabagong nagaganap sa kinabibilangang komunidad.
GMRC	Natututuhan ng mag-aaral ang pag-unawa sa sariling hilig at kakayahan.	Naisasagawa ng mag-aaral ang mga sariling hilig at kakayahan upang malinang ang tiwala sa sarili.
